Born in Lugano - Switzerland

Genius was founded in Lugano, at the heart of Italian-speaking Switzerland, a serene, refined, and inspiring setting that echoes the spirit of its timepieces.

It was in this distinctive environment that Genius introduced a bold new vision: an unprecedented asymmetrical watch that defies the traditional symmetry of classic watchmaking. Two contrasting guilloché patterns—horizontal and “Grande Tapisserie”—two half-dials, two half-bracelets, and one striking signature: an invisible crown that elevates the purity of the design.

Merging Swiss precision with daring creativity, Genius embraces its counter-current identity, always with elegance.

Creator of the "50/50" Watch Design

Two iconic watches in one. A vision. A signature.

In 2020, in Lugano, a simple yet revolutionary idea took shape: to unite two masterpieces of watch design—both conceived by Gérald Genta—into a single, bold timepiece.

The concept was sparked over dinner, when one of the founders placed two watch visuals side by side in the shape of a bow tie, folded them together… and the “50/50” design was born.

Two half-dials. Two half-cases. One patented, asymmetrical silhouette, instantly recognizable.

The name came naturally: Genius. A tribute to the “Picasso of watchmaking,” who created over 100,000 sketches between 1954 and 2011. A contemporary work of art, crafted to be worn.
